Review and Tasting

Sampled on 26/01/2025

Appearance:

Clear, pale apple green.

Aroma:

Pungent and herbal with turmeric, pine, thyme, mint, liquorice and gentian.

Taste:

Herbal with assertive black pepper spice. It's so complex that it's hard to pick out component notes, but gentian, mint, sage, and basil stand out. (Turmeric is not one of the disclosed botanicals, but its perception continues from the nose.)

Aftertaste:

Cracked black pepper, minty, herbal freshness.

Overall:

A viable alternative to Green Chartreuse, although not as intense in flavour or alcohol. Hence, some may prefer served as a neat, after-dinner liqueur to Chartreuse. Black pepper spice helps cut through the sweetness and helps give this liqueur a cleansing freshness.
