60 ml Cognac (brandy)
22.5 ml Tawny port
15 ml De Kuyper Brown Crème de Cacao
15 ml Single cream/half-and-half

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill a Coupe glass.
  2. Prepare garnish of grated nutmeg.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. FINE STRAIN into chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with a dusting of nutmeg grated over cocktail.

This mid-1900s classic from New York's Chatham Hotel was resurrected by Ted Haigh in his 2004 book Vintage Spirits & Forgotten Cocktails.
