Appearance:
Crystal clear.
Aroma:
Caraway and anise/liquorice with subtle apple pie.
Taste:
Caraway-forward with anise/liquorice notes from the fennel with enlivening coriander spice and sweet apple.
Aftertaste:
Apple notes are more noticeable on the cleansing, delightfully herbal, and spicy finish.
Overall:
Almqvist has the distinctive caraway notes you'd expect of a Swedish akvavit but with contemporary lightness and freshness.
